Welcome to another Big Train Tour at the Colorado Railroad Museum! Our subject this month is a wood-bodied, narrow gauge railroad boxcar. Like many rail vehicles and especially narrow gauge ones, the car served several owners and sported at least three different numbers during its service life. Colorado & Northwestern boxcar 1026 today serves as a connection to a small railroad that once headed west from Boulder and up into the Rockies and this region’s storied past here in the Centennial State.
